    Exotic Ambience

We’re firm believers of the term ‘Good Vibes only!’. Our café is an ideal ‘chill out’ spot with it’s easy laid-back seating, soft ambient music playing in the background and the smell of a freshly brewed cuppa wafting through the room. We’re right at the centre of the Fort, but away from the usual hustle and bustle! Come in, grab a seat and enjoy what we’ve got to offer. – option to remove this line if too much text

  • The Great Galley Concept

    The Great Galley Concept

Maritime History played a part in the inspiration of the ‘look’ of our café. An homage of sorts to visitors and eventual dwellers in the historic fort and the city over the centuries. Galley 52, wants you to experience a wee bit of history while you’re within our walls.

The Galle Fort – A World Heritage Site

Initially built by the Portuguese settlers in 1588 and then heavily fortified by the Dutch in the 17th Century is a national monument and is arguably the most visited tourist destination in Sri Lanka. A colourful history, multi-cultural population and its monumental appearance has made a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Food

The mutton biryani with raita & chicken korma with chapathi really hit the spot! The G52 ship wreck burger had a unique blue cheese & chili jam sauce where the flavors blended in so well together. We loved the fusion flavors mixed with a bit of western flavors. Don't think there's any other place in Galle that has a menu suce as Galley52.

  • Simply amazing!

Amazing and friendly service very caring and attentive, they ensure you enjoy every step of your meal they go to a great extent to give you the roots and background of the dishes served . I had the nasi goreng with the poached egg which was a great idea , the sambal was devilish and none like I ever tried before.

  • Great food

The chef really went out of his way to make us feel welcome! The food was super delicious and eating here was a great start to our stay in Galle Forte. We also stayed at their guesthouse that Gallery 52 is situated in, called Villa Ayura which is also recommended if you're visiting Galle Forte. Overall Gallery 52 has a great vibe and atmosphere, matched with a great location. Do yourself a favour and visit this one, it's a hidden gem. RECOMMENDED!
