Unawatuna Jungle Beach
Welcome to the jungle by the beach, where you can take it day by day. Situated just beyond the Galle town, Jungle Beach is a shaded sandy cove ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
A small hike through the outer perimeters of the Rumassala Forest Reserve brings you to the Jungle Beach, and the first part of the beach is taken over by a beach restaurant and bar with sun beds on the beach and multilingual signs hanging from the trees. While it is very convenient to grab a quick snack or a cold beer after a swim, the further you get away from the restaurant closer you become to the true Jungle Beach experience.
An isolated beach of with white sand and a turquoise blue ocean with gentle waves awaits anyone who dares to take a walk along the trim of Rumassala Mountain, a beach that is isolated and an ocean that is ideal for gentle swimming and snorkeling.
Situated nearly 6 km away from Galley 52, Jungle Beach can be reached within 20 minutes on a tuk-tuk and best visited in the morning.
